Quantum teleportation demonstrated across 100 parallel channels

PhysicsUnverifiedUpdated:

A reported experiment teleported quantum information encoded in a 100-pixel image across 100 simultaneous channels. It expands parallel operation beyond the single or small number of channels used in most earlier experiments.

Reconstructing a Q across a 10-by-10 optical grid

Physicists led by Jietai Jing reportedly arranged 100 spatially separated modes of light in a 10-by-10 grid and teleported the quantum state encoded in every mode simultaneously. The resulting intensity pattern formed the letter “Q.” The article says the average fidelity was 0.60, above the cited classical-limit average of 0.52, with every one of the 100 modes exceeding its corresponding classical limit.

Most quantum-teleportation experiments had used one channel or only a relatively small number of multiplexed channels.

The reported experiment operated 100 independently controllable spatial light modes as quantum-teleportation channels in parallel, reconstructing a 100-pixel “Q” pattern at the receiving end.

Quantum teleportation transfers a quantum state rather than moving physical matter. The reported result addresses capacity: it suggests one all-optical arrangement can handle many quantum channels in parallel, rather than requiring a separate teleportation setup for every channel.
