RatHat is reported to add AI-guided Android device control
A reported Android malware family, RatHat, adds AI-guided navigation that could let operators move through a compromised device's interface without interacting with it in real time.

Sending interface structure to AI for instructions
BleepingComputer reports that researchers analyzed RatHat, an Android malware family said to abuse Accessibility permissions and use an AI-powered interface-automation engine.
According to the report, it serializes the live Accessibility tree into XML, sends it to an unnamed popular AI assistant, and receives information about interface elements and navigation commands. The report also describes persistence mechanisms, credential-capturing overlays, interception of SMS messages and notifications, and attempts to block removal.
The report contrasts RatHat's approach with interface automation based entirely on fixed scripts.
RatHat is reported to use an AI-powered subsystem to interpret an Android device's live interface and return navigation instructions, making remote interface control more adaptable than fixed-script automation.
Possible reduced dependence on fixed scripts
If the reported analysis is accurate, AI-guided interpretation of a live screen could make malware-driven interface navigation less dependent on prewritten steps and more adaptable to changing screens.
