Bitget revises claimed crypto-wallet loss to $387.5 million
The exchange says withdrawals remain temporarily suspended while security checks continue, and it attributes the reported theft to North Korean actors based on IP behavioral patterns and on-chain signatures.

Additional affected assets on Zcash and TRON
According to Bitget’s CEO, attackers compromised a key backend system for its wallet service, forged transfer information, and invoked the authorization-signing process to move assets from exchange wallets.
Bitget says it later identified additional affected assets on Zcash and TRON, revising its estimate from $351.6 million to approximately $387.5 million. The company says its cold wallets and customer balances were unaffected, while withdrawals are temporarily suspended during further checks.
Bitget initially estimated the loss at $351.6 million. The available account does not provide independently verified before-and-after accounting.
Bitget revised its claimed loss upward by including additional affected Zcash and TRON assets, bringing the reported total to about $387.5 million.
A backend system rather than leaked keys is alleged
The revised estimate increases the scale of the reported incident. Bitget’s account also identifies a backend wallet-service system, rather than private-key leakage, as the alleged source of the unauthorized transfers; the intrusion method remains under investigation.
