A palm-sized mechanical calculator reportedly made entirely from 3D-printing filament

A report says YouTuber 3D all Workshop built a palm-sized mechanical calculator from 3D-printing filament alone. The device reportedly accepts inputs from 1 to 999 and can add; multiplication is done through repeated addition.

About one hundred iterations to address tiny mechanical errors

What makes the build unusual is its scale. Its mechanism uses stepped drums and gears, yet the report says tiny print inconsistencies, gear binding, backlash, broken parts, and even handling vibrations repeatedly disrupted it. The creator reportedly went through about 100 design iterations over two months before using printed springs and a ratchet mechanism to keep the drums synchronized.

The reported final version has 109 pieces, takes 17 print-hours, and uses 90 g of filament. It reportedly cannot subtract or divide because those mechanisms would not fit in the palm-sized build.
